As a web developer, I specialize in creating modular and scalable front-end architectures. As an educator, I focused on creating inclusive learning environments.

I also occasionally write and speak about web development, diversity and whatever else is on my mind. Also a certified BODYPUMP Instructor for GoodLife Fitness.

Managed and created curriculum for the adult programs, to be used in all 20+ chapter cities across Canada. Supported volunteer instructors and tech related strategies and duties.

Key contributions:

  • Created 9 new workshops focusing on HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Wordpress and Responsive Web Design.
  • Created all Hackapalooza content (2 day conference style event), consisting of 2-4 hour workshop sessions.
  • Designed and standardized all of the curriculum for the adult programs, instructor.
  • Created the curriculum, lesson plans and intructor for the 7 week Digital Skills part-time program.
  • Provided instructor training for all lead instructors, across Canada. Training focused on creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment.

Key contributions include:

  • Developed mobile web prototypes for Globe & Mail and Scotiabank targeting Android, iPad and iPhone.
  • First associate to complete an internal Labs project entitled "Do We Have Milk?" The smartjug/Arduino project garnered coverage from The Verge, NewScientist, Engadget and Mashable.
  • Organized a series of HTML/CSS Q&A's and working sessions for in-house designers as part of an internal initiative for designers to learn the basics of front-end development.

Primary developer for and provided support for various client projects such as Home Depot and KFC.

Created wireframes, provided creative direction and front-end integration for the Holt Renfrew Lookbook CMS template. The layout added enhancements and improved the user flow. Able to re-use the code for new gift guide templates and cut development time in half.

Key contributions:

  • Successful redesign of on-line registration. Created templates to reduce development time in half.
